![]() Nov. 14, 1998 By Smokey's Trail(KNOXVILLE, TENN.) -- -- The Arkansas Razorbacks gave Tennessee a fit in the first half. Their offense made the big plays and Tennessee turned the ball over twice. Tennessee had several mis-tackles and made some mental mistakes that cost them dearly. Tennessee came back with a big touchdown, being behind 21-10 at the half. Tennessee stops Arkansas in the first possession , in the second half, and then Tennessee fumbles the ball for the third turnover.
Tennessee makes another drive and was stopped inside the 10 yard line and Jeff Hall kicks a fieldgoal to make the score 24-20. In the 4th quarter, Al Wilson sacks the quarterback, Clint Stoerner, for a big loss. Arkansas tries a 37-yard field goal and it was blocked by Deon Grant, and Al Wilson picks it up and returns it 50 yards to the Razorbacks 36, with 6 1/2 minutes left. Arkansas stops Tennessee and David Leaverton punts to their 1-yard line.
Tennessee returned the free kick to its 49, but gained only a yard in four plays, giving the ball back. But Stoerner, as he was rolling away from the line, stumbled and tried to brace his fall by placing the football on the ground. The ball came loose and was recovered by defensive tackle Billy Ratliff on the Arkansas 43 with 1:43 left. Travis Henry couldn't be denied as he ran five straight times and scored from the 1 to stun the Razorbacks with one of the biggest victories in school history.
